Curacao is the "C" of the ABC islands. What are the ABC Islands? The ABC islands are comprised of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. These dry arid islands located out of the Hurricane belt off the coast of Venezuela are associated with the
Like the variety of flavors in an ice cream shop, these islands have something special and different to offer the dive traveler. Curacao represents the best of Bonaire and the best of Aruba. Some report that the diving in Curacao rivals Bonaire in quality of coral, ease of shore diving and variety of fish. Yes, Curacao has sea horses, frog fish and beautiful yellow cup corals that brighten up you night dives.
In addition (and unlike Bonaire), Curacao offers some great night life and beaches. Casinos are available for your night time pleasure in addition to a great variety of restaurants and other activities. The main town on the island, Willemstad, offers fantastic shopping and great photo opportunities.
When diving in Curacao you can discover a world of brilliant turquoise waters, rivers of creole wrasse, spotted eagle rays, seahorses, macro life on every coral head truly a photographers paradise.

Curaçao has a sunny, breezy, dry climate with year round temperature of 80 degrees and almost no humidity. The landscape around Curaçao may remind you of Arizona or Mexico which have similar climates. Unlike other tropical destinations there is no need to worry about rain spoiling your vacation as Curaçao is outside the hurricane belt. English, Spanish and Dutch are spoken everywhere as well as Papiamentu the local language.
Breathtaking Coral Cliffs surrounded by white coral beach created the ideal setting for Curacao’s most luxurious resort - the Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, this peaceful, tropical getaway offers the tranquility of a secluded island hideaway coupled with a relaxing and alluring beachfront retreat located on the Island’s West End.
Boasting a spectacular natural reef located off of its beach, Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club is a prime diving destination resort offering an on-site dive shop that provides snorkeling, scuba diving, courses and daily excursions to Curacao’s top dive sites. Scuba Gear, Snorkeling Equipment and Paddleboats are also available for rental. Voted number one property in the Caribbean for snorkeling and diving in 2009 by the Professional Travel Guide.

Located only 30 minutes from Curacao’s international airport, the new beachfront haven offers spacious villas, suites and guestrooms, all elegantly appointed, featuring balconies or patios with stunning panoramic views of the ocean or gardens and exquisite patio furnishing.
Guests who want to stay topside can opt for massages (surcharge) poolside, or workout in our state of the art fitness center and play a game of tennis. Peek your head into Grita Kabaai Convenience Store and gift shop, which is located on site. Daily complimentary scheduled transportation provided into downtown Willemstad, Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa and Casino (member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World – our sister property), Museum Kura Hulanda, Spa Kura Hulanda, and Casino Kura Hulanda all part of the World Heritage Village.
Can I drink the water?
Yes, Curacao has delicious healthy water which has been rated better than many bottled waters.
Will my electrical appliances work?
Curacao's Electrical supply is 110 - 130 volts/50 cycles, similar but not identical to the US standard. Most 60 cycle electrical appliances from the United States will function properly, although appliances that have internal time mechanisms will not keep the correct time.
What currency is accepted?
US Dollars and Antillean Guilders are accepted at the resort and around Curacao. All major credit cards are also welcome and ATM cash machines are located around the island.
A complimentary shuttle bus takes you into the historic capital city Willemstad just 25 minutes away. The bus departs two times per day. If you are planning an active vacation and would like to explore Curacao's many activities we do suggest that you rent a car so that you experience all that exciting Curacao has to offer.
Diving
I have personally found the diving in Curacao to far surpass Bonaire(a personal favorite) in reef health, fish, critters and ease of entry (easy peasy beach entry). I hope you will join us on a relaxing dive vacation.
